There is no need to compromise tracheal ring palpations “clicks” when using the bougie by pre-loading the ETT, you can do this efficiently all by yourself. Keep coude tip between the 10 and 2 o’clock position. Stabilize bougie with left hand as you hold the laryngoscope and rotate the ETT 90 degrees counter-clockwise to close the gap between ETT and bougie as you railroad the ETT. Remove bougie towards the feet.
